During this days, we are going around with “O Maio” (the May). At Monte da Guia we look for: ferns, brooms, ivy, fennel, elder, foxgloves and corn marigold flowers to make necklaces with them. Also we borrow roses from our neighbours.
Semente families write a beautiful song and we dance and sing in a circle. Finally we carry our maio for all the neighbourhood while our trainee teacher Adrian plays the pipe. Also, we enjoyed the delightful experience of spent some time with Vitória, a neighbour that for many years participate in the May festival of the Teis neighborhood association and shared with us pictures from that time when one day they go to the Riouxa and the next day to the Old Town.
